The Internet is now an every day essential business tool which is why the Certified Internet Web Associate Foundations course (CIW v5) is so imperative.

The CIW v5 Foundations course aims to provide you with a foundation in each facet of web and internet technology. You will gain a complete working comprehension of internet tools such as File Transfer Protocol (FTP), email and web browsers. Qualifications

Following completion of the course students will have been prepared to sit the CIW Foundations V5 certification exam.  The exam takes 90 minutes and is an online exam that is in a multiple choice format.  In order to sit the exam, students must have studied all 3 course components:  Networking Fundamentals, Site Development Foundations and Internet Business Foundations.

Successful students will be given the CIW Associate certification and hold a well recognised qualification that is highly regarded in the industry.

Assignments

As you progress through the course you will be required to complete 25 assignments.  The assignments will give you tutor a chance to assess your progress, give help and provide you with feedback.


In addition to the assignments, you will have an opportunity to practice your newly learnt skills by undertaking practical exercises at various stages of your course. 

All the exercises will be supplied on the course CD-ROM.



Study Details

The course has been designed in a logical order so not only can you learn at a pace comfortable to you but so you can build on the knowledge you have already gained when you move onto the next topic.  The duration of the course should amount to approximately 140 hours of study time.

Note: Whilst you don’t need any prior experience of developing web pages or configuring networks, you should be comfortable with operating systems such as Microsoft XP.

Note: The minimum computer hardware requirements for this course are;

  • P4 processor
  • 512 megaram or higher
  • 60 GB ram hard-drive
